Personally I love rituals, I start my day in the same way (weekdays) and end it with a before bed ritual of a nice warm shower, body oils, reading and mediation. I am a creature of habit and it keeps me grounded, organised and energised.
This time of year has us thinking about traditional family rituals and how these shape our childhood memories.
As kids Easter always meant travelling to our grandparents dairy farm, Easter Egg hunts in the Barn, lots of baking with our nan, family meals gathered around the dining table, late night card games and church on Sunday in our best clothes (mum often helped me make us new outfits.)
Although we don't have the farm to go to now, we've created our own family traditions knowing that our own children will grow up with the warm and fuzzy memories we've created.
Enjoy a restful, relaxing and chocolate filled long weekend making memories with the people you love.
With love and kindness,
Marika (& Ilana) xx
