There’s a particular feeling when you put on a piece of jewellery that’s been made with care.
It sits exactly where it should… not too high, not too heavy, not demanding to be noticed. It catches the light in a way that feels almost accidental. And as the day unfolds, you stop thinking about it… because it has become part of you.
That’s the quiet magic of artisanal design. Not perfection in a glossy sense, but intention. Comfort. Balance. Longevity. The kind of beauty that doesn’t need to announce itself.
At Lanamara, I’ve always designed for the pieces you keep. The ones that move with you through seasons and chapters. The ones you wear when you’re not trying too hard, and somehow, you look even more like yourself.
The difference you notice before you see
Often, it’s not the sparkle that tells you a piece is special. It’s the feel.
The weight is considered. The edges are softened. The proportions make sense on the body, on the collarbone, on the wrist, against the skin. You don’t spend the day adjusting, tugging, unclasping. You wear it once, and you understand it.
Some jewellery is made to be photographed.
Artisanal jewellery is made to be lived in.
My philosophy: less, but better
I think the most luxurious pieces are often the most edited. The ones that don’t shout, but stay.
When I design, I come back to the same principles again and again:
Restraint. Not because I don’t love detail, I do, but because timelessness lives in simplicity.
Versatility. If you can wear it to the school run, then to dinner, then again the next morning with linen and salt on your skin… it becomes yours.
Comfort. A piece can be beautiful, but if it snags, scratches, pinches, or feels too precious to wear, it won’t stay in your life for long.
Longevity. The finish, the construction, the feeling of “this will still be beautiful in years”, that’s always the goal.
Because style is rarely about having more. It’s about having the right pieces, the ones that hold their place.
Why artisanal matters (beyond the word)
“Artisanal” can be a label. But to me, it’s a way of working.
It’s refinement over rushing. It’s caring about the details that are invisible at first glance but unmistakable over time… the balance, the finish, the way a piece wears day after day.
It’s also a kind of respect: for craft, for the hands that make, and for the woman who will wear it.
And when you choose jewellery this way, something changes. You buy with intention. You wear more. You keep more. You build a collection that feels like a story, not a trend cycle.
Choosing one piece you’ll wear for years
If you’re starting fresh this year, or simply editing back to what you truly love, I always suggest beginning with one anchor piece.
Ask yourself:
Will I wear this with my most-worn necklines?
Does it feel comfortable immediately?
Can it move between casual and elevated without changing who I am?
Do I still want it when the trend conversation shifts?
If the answer is yes, you’ll know. The piece will feel calm. Familiar. Right.
Two pieces I love for building an “on-repeat” collection
There are two Lanamara pieces that capture this philosophy beautifully, one that becomes your statement, and one that becomes your talisman.
Etoile Cuff is the kind of piece that finishes an outfit without you having to do anything else. Sculptural, softly vintage in spirit, and designed to be worn with ease, alone or stacked. It’s artisan made by our community partners in India, with an 18k gold plated brass base and a premium tarnish-free finish. The etched star details hold a subtle, soulful sparkle, the kind that feels special in daylight, and even more so at night.
Clover Pendant is a piece with meaning woven into it. Inspired by ancient talismans, it features our signature clover with four petals, representing the pillars of Lanamara: connection, craft, community, and nostalgia. It’s designed to be worn long, layered, and kept close, crafted from gold plated brass with iridescent mixed cubic zirconias, and finished for everyday wear.
A quiet kind of authority
I don’t believe authority comes from being loud. I think it comes from being clear, about what you value, what you make, and why it matters.
This year, I want Lanamara to feel like a place you come to not just to shop… but to learn, to be inspired, and to build a jewellery wardrobe that feels truly yours.
Pieces that hold stories. Pieces that hold up.
